How We Hire Our Caregivers
Safety, Skill, and Compassion — That’s Our Standard
At Family Care Solutions, we understand that welcoming a caregiver into your home is a deeply personal decision. That’s why we take every step to ensure our team meets the highest standards of safety, professionalism, and compassion. Each of our caregivers is carefully screened, trained, and supported to provide the best possible care.
Our Hiring Process Includes:
Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) Background Check
Every applicant undergoes fingerprinting and a full TBI background check to confirm they have no felonies or disqualifying offenses.
Drug Testing
We conduct pre-employment drug screenings and perform additional tests as needed to ensure a safe, sober, and trustworthy care environment.
CPR and First Aid Certification
All caregivers maintain valid CPR and First Aid certifications to handle emergencies with confidence and competence.
Ongoing Training and Continuing Education
Our team participates in annual training and continuing education (CEUs), including dementia-specific courses, to stay informed, skilled, and compassionate.
Reference and Employment Verification
We thoroughly verify each candidate’s professional references and employment history to confirm reliability and caregiving experience.
Additional Background and Registry Checks (Initial & Ongoing):
- Tennessee Abuse Registry – Checked annually
- Tennessee Felony Offender Registry – Checked annually
- Tennessee Sex Offender Registry – Checked annually
- National Sex Offender Registry – Checked annually
- Office of Inspector General Exclusion List (LEIE) – Checked monthly
- System for Award Management (SAM/EPLS) – Checked monthly
These comprehensive checks allow us to maintain the highest level of safety, compliance, and trust for every client we serve.
Licensed and Insured Agency
Family Care Solutions is a fully licensed and insured agency. In the event of an accident or incident during a shift, our agency coverage protects you and your loved ones—offering peace of mind and legal security.
Important Reminder: Hiring a private caregiver may appear more affordable, but it can leave you personally liable for injuries or issues. Private hires often lack the credentials, insurance, and oversight that an agency like ours provides.
We Invest in Our Caregivers
We believe that excellent care starts with well-supported caregivers. By offering competitive pay and benefits, we:
- Checked annually
- Attract experienced and compassionate professionals
- Improve staff reliability and retention
- Encourage loyalty and commitment
- Allow caregivers to focus on quality—not just quantity—of care
Ongoing Training and Support
Our caregivers receive continuous education in areas such as:
- Elder abuse prevention
- Safe patient handling
- Emergency response
- Observation and documentation
This ensures their skills remain sharp, their judgment sound, and their care compassionate.
We’re fully licensed, insured, and dedicated to protecting you and your family—every step of the way.
